On a personal note, Jasmine's owner visited my own dog, Granger, when she was in a shelter in Ontario, and helped the staff identify her breed. Bullies In Need is the rescue that sent her to me. So it is for a great person and a great cause! :)

In other news, after 4 days off, I don't want to go back to work tomorrow. Only 4.5 more weeks of work, then 2 weeks off, with a visit to BC included, and then Vet School. Weee!

Less than 12 hours to go. Rob's flight gets in at 10pm tonight. I survived 8 weeks without my best friend in strange town where I don't know anyone. Where I have a job I hate. Where it's -40. Where I was lucky to get two emails and a phone call from him in a week. I took care of myself and my two demanding dogs during a blizzard and several snowstorms. Sure there were a lot of tears, but I learned that just when you think you can't stand it any longer, you really CAN stand it, because you have no other choice.
I am looking forward to someone else shoveling the driveway and making my coffee in the morning.

This gift registry thing is fun. I just checked, and so far we are the future recipients of a blender and two sets of flatware. Also, family friends (my side) are giving us $200 for our honeymoon. Yaaaa!
Right now I have to figure out how to plan a honeymoon with no money. Challenging, but not impossible.

Granger fought the law

Today it's -20 out, but the sun is shining, so I bundled up the dogs in their coats and booties and we went for a walk. This is the wrong side of the tracks, so usually there are cops out patrolling the 'hood, and with Granger in her little pink coat, it's not uncommon for us to attract attention.

As we were walking along today, a cop pulled up beside us, rolled down his passenger window and started asking me what type of dog Granger is, and is she friendly. He then got out of his car and starting petting her. Since it's VERY cold when you stop moving, Granger started eying his car, probably thinking "Riding in a car would be much better than going for a walk today". So then the cop says to her "You wanna go for a car ride" and she jumped in through the window of the cruiser! Luckily the cop thought it was funny.
